A race to commemorate World Environment Day 2022

Gender Equality, Women's and Youth Empowerment

(Website Management)

I created the Gender Equality, Women's and Youth Empowerment webpage to bolster UNDP's efforts towards achieving SDG5 through its projects, and gender mainstreaming within the Government of Lesotho.  

My Role

I was the lead communications personnel.

Main Goal

Enhance UNDP's image with regards to fostering SDG5, and gender mainstreaming efforts in Lesotho, while also positioning the country office to achieve the highest level of the corporate standard of gender equality, the  UNDP Gender Equality Seal.

The Process

  • I designed the layout of the web page.

  • I consulted with the Gender Officer about the layout of the web page. 

  • I conducted interviews with her to get a better understanding of the achievements of her office. 

  • I collected gender equality related documentation.

  • I edited the documentations for publication.

  • I designed a graphic and edited pictures for the website.

  • I also designed and published a project brief.

Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow 

(Writing: Human-Interest Story)

I wrote a compelling human-interest story highlighting the influence of Basotho women as leaders in climate change action and biodiversity preservation for UNDP Lesotho's commemoration of International Women's Day 2022 and award ceremony.

My Role

I was the lead communications personnel.

Main Goal

Bring awareness to the work of UNDP in capacitating women in climate change action and biodiversity, while upholding SDG5, SDG8 and SDG13 in Lesotho. 

The Process

  • I consulted with the project managers about the work they do and its impact.

  • I did research by reading project-related documents.

  • I designed a communications plan for the event

  • I visited project sites

  • I interviewed the beneficiaries

  • I took pictures, edited them and used them in the social media campaign.

  • I wrote the article and edited it based on the Project Manager's inputs.

Documenting Lesotho's Tourist Attraction Sites

(Project Brief)

I designed a brief on the collective intelligence that was geared towards gathering information from tourism stakeholders to learn how UNDP Lesotho can support economic development and diversification through a robust tourism sector. This project was ran by UNDP Lesotho's Accelerator Lab.

My Role

I was the lead communications personnel.

Main Goal

Create a document which distilled the nascent stages of the project to garner stakeholder engagement, public support and enhance UNDP's position as a leader in economic development initiatives. 

The Process

  • I designed the communications plan.

  • I attended the workshop and took pictures. 

  • I interviewed stakeholders.

  • I designed the brief and edited it based on the input of the Head of Solutions Mapping.

  • I published the brief on the website. 

Additional Communications Efforts 

  • I ran social media campaigns during the workshop and after the publication of the brief. 

  • I designed social media assets.

  • I wrote an article and published it on UNDP Lesotho's website.
